Hey!

New electric indoor karting place has opened up in Springfield within the last couple of months, its called Kicks Family Entertainment Center and is located in the old Furrow's building on south 6th street.

Of course, this probably won't come close to the experience at Chicago Indoor Racing, but its a lot closer and a lot cheaper. Then again, if you ballers would rather go CIR this xmas break... we could take a poll. I think it would be easier to get a bigger group down to Kicks. I went to a similar place in Lafayette and it was a lot of fun.

I called and talked to them. Cost per race is $3.75 and each race is 10 laps. Could probably do a lap in about 20 seconds, according to the guy I spoke to. They are throttled at 55% but I am going to talk to one of the owners tonight (Rusty) and see about a group accomidation where maybe they can run them at full speed for us! They do not have their transponders setup yet so no laptimes or result print-out.

Anybody interested? It would be about an 80 minute drive from Peoria area. Should be able to kart all our hearts desire for under $40 (~11 races). It wouldn't be the grand prix or tournament format, but would still be fun.

If you guys would prefer CIR and would be serious about going up there next week instead, post up. CIR is atleast $85 for the Grand Prix, and is four races total (three races of 15 laps, one final race of 30 laps).

I was thinking we could go maybe Wednesday, December 27th or something. If we get there early, they shouldn't be too busy.
