You are right Marty.
As far as this event being cancelled we needed enough people signed up to safely run the event and that didn't happen. Safety has to come first.

I express an intent to go to the event at the Bloomington airport last August and was told it was cancelled at the last minute for the same reasons cited here -- lack of interest. Subsequent to that, the airport authority may have decided to discontinue allowing events at their old terminal parking lot because of the Mustang incident. Had there been an event which came off safely, I'd bet they would have different attitude. In any case, TNT events this late in the season seem, a bit late for autocrossers. Not that there is not any value but hopefully you have sorted out most of your issues by this time in the season whereas at the two day GASS event which turned out to be 2nd day TNT, it was early enough in the season to have real value and moreover people were already committed to being there as it was too late to cancel your hotel rooms.

Having T&T events this late in the year are very valuable for people wanting to get the car dialed in before heading out to Topeka for the SOLO2 Nationals. There are also people installing new parts on their cars throughout the year and would like a chance to try them out. I have new springs and shocks I would have liked to get dialed in. There wil be a T&T at Rantoul the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.

I can't tell if I'm in the minority as I am constantly re-tuning my car due to changes to in the dynamics as a result of modifications which are transforming an old amalgamation (Z3 is a combo of E36 front end and E30 rear) into a more rigid platform. Didn't know how much value people get from TNT mid year. I could see a value to me but less so for others but can see the purpose for someone heading to Topeka.
